In line with new EU data protection laws I have updated my privacy policy. I understand privacy and security of personal information is important and I am committed to protecting it.

Where do I store information?
All personal information collected during and in communication in-between counselling sessions is recorded on hard copy personal files stored in a secure locked cabinet. Any communications made via the website contact form, social media, email, text and voicemail will be deleted as soon as relevant data necessary for the delivery of the service has been transferred to hard copy secure storage and necessary responses completed.
How long do I store information?
In line with my BACP membership and insurance, data is held no longer than is necessary. Where you have accessed counselling services, your data will be kept for a minimum of 6 years and thereafter as long as necessary. For young people who have accessed counselling services, data will be stored for a minimum of 6 years following their 18th birthday and thereafter as long as necessary. After which personal data will be securely destroyed.
How do I obtain your personal information?
- From you, when we communicate through media or in person; through completion of contact forms, emails, calls, texts, in direct face to face conversations and attendance at workshops and open days.
- From 3rd parties acting on your behalf who make enquiries and/or refer you for counselling. For example schools, training providers, family, friends, healthcare and therapeutic professionals and GPs.

- To provide and operate the service.
- To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred non personal information, which I may use to improve the service.
- To keep you updated with products and services.
- To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.
What type of information do I collect?

- Information relating to your personal identity such as name, date of birth, gender
- Contact details such as email, phone numbers, address, GP, current school or college.
- Sensitive Information relating to your referral. Normally I would only usually do so where I have your explicit consent.
- Comments, feedback, reviews and recommendations.
